On lift doors for which light grids appear to be too intricate or cannot be used for compatibility reasons, various types of light barriers continue to be used.

In the case of the WL01 reflective light barrier, which was specially developed for lift construction, particular emphasis was placed on the high immunity to interference with respect to mains voltage spikes. The electrical connection can be made directly with the operating voltage, as all function groups such as the power supply unit, booster and relay output are accommodated in the housing.
